A West Marin ghost town is set to be torn down by the National Park Service this Fall.

After this fall there will be no trace left of the historic West Marin town of Jewell. At least that’s what some local environmentalists are hoping for. KRCB’s Tiffany Camhi reports the plan is to restore the one-mile long area along Lagunitas Creek to its natural habitat.

A new home for Sonoma State’s Wine Business institute was cause for a celebration yesterday, even though it won’t open until next Summer.

The Wine Business Institute at Sonoma State won’t move into its new home for another year, but a well-attended event to herald the change drew dozens of industry leaders and others to the campus yesterday. KRCB’s Bruce Robinson was among them.

A Marin yoga teacher plans to heal war-torn in African communities in Sierra Leone.

Yoga has become so popular in the U.S. that studios are now as common as Starbucks coffee shops. But in other parts of the world, the practice is still getting its footing. KRCB’s Tiffany Camhi reports how one Marin yoga teacher’s travels to Sierra Leone planted the seeds for that war-torn country’s first community yoga studio.

A bay area-wide ballot measure for wetlands protection and restoration faces voters June 7.

One thing that all nine Bay Area Counties have in common is a portion of the shoreline around the Bay. So they are also sharing in the electoral decision to be made on Measure AA in California’s June Primary.

Sonoma County Voters will again be asked to enact a ban on GMO crops on the November Ballot.

More than a decade after the divisive and expensive political battle over Measure M—which would have enacted a 10-year moratorium on growing bioengineered crops in Sonoma County—the issue will be back on the local ballot this fall.

Visitors to Jack London State Historical Park Sunday got a glimpse of early 20th century farming practices.

Once a year visitors to Jack London State Historical Park can experience how the famed adventurer and writer lived as a farmer in the Valley of the Moon. This year the event, known as Plowing Play Day, was part of a summer-long celebration of the 100th anniversary of London’s death.

Trying to help thousands of refugees is overwhelming. But aiding one or two directly can be deeply satisfying.

Millions of Americans have seen and heard about the millions of refugee refugees who are flooding into Europe to escape the ongoing violence in Syria, Afghanistan and other Middle East war zones. Today we hear from one man who went to Greece to do what he could to help them.

John Namkung will offer a talk and slide show titled, “How My Experiences with Refugees in Greece Opened My Eyes and My Heart,” tonight e at Congregation Ner Shalom in Cotati, at 7 PM. Travelers leaving Santa Rosa’s airport now have a new direct link to two additional destinations.

A second airline is now serving the Santa Rosa airport, which is preparing to expand again in anticipation of further passenger traffic. Their first flight arrived early yesterday afternoon, and returned to Las Vegas a couple of hours later, after ground crews got some training on working with the new aircraft.
