  • Stories of Sobriety and Kindness from Unhoused People in Mendocino County – July 24, 2018
Perhaps you’ll find it surprising that people who don’t have a fixed address can spend much of their day being kind and helpful to others.
Reporter Sarah Reith has been talking with people we wouldn’t ordinarily get to know. She’s been interviewing men and women in Mendocino County who are struggling to find a steady place to live, while fighting to create stability in their lives. She’s got two stories for us today – the first from Sean Jarstrom, whose life used to revolve around buying and taking drugs – but who is now sober.

  • Sonoma Valley Cannabis Enthusiasts Come Together to Talk Marketing, Law, Strategy and Terroir – July 20, 2018
It may surprise visitors to the county, if not residents, that cannabis, though “legal” to use and grow for personal use, still can’t be bought in many California towns.
Cannabis is on the agenda Monday at the Sonoma City Council – in a town where no dispensaries are yet open for business. A month ago, about 50 folks gathered at the Sonoma Grille to share ideas about how to make growing and selling pot more accepted in the Sonoma Valley. News director Steve Mencher was there as organizer Michael Coats kicked off the meeting of the Sonoma Valley Cannabis Enthusiasts.

On July 11, Zane will present “The S Word,” a film about suicide and survival. She spoke with KRCB’s Steve Mencher about the crusade that began at her husband’s funeral.
