Mack Brown, whose charismatic style and disciplined approach propelled the University of North Carolina to the Top Five and the University of Texas to the 2005 BCS National Championship, began his second stint as head coach in Chapel Hill on Nov. 27, 2018.

Omarion Hampton hails from Clayton, North Carolina, where he attended Cleveland High School. A highly regarded four-star prospect, he earned numerous accolades, including North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year and The Charlotte Observer’s Mr. Football for North Carolina. Throughout his high school career, he rushed for an impressive 5,370 yards and 88 touchdowns, while also contributing significantly in basketball and track and field.

Punishing running back who enters 2024 having recorded 345 rushing attempts for 1,772 yards and 20 touchdowns as well as 37 receptions for 206 yards in 984 career snaps over 36 games (seven starts) … is also 1-for-2 passing for 19 yards in his career … combined with Will Shipley in 2023 to form only the seventh Clemson running back duo to each eclipse 750 rushing yards in a single season since 1948, Clemson’s first pair of backs to do so since “Thunder and Lightning” James Davis and C.J. Spiller in 2007 … recorded one of the most memorable bowl game performances in school history, recording a Clemson-bowl-record four rushing touchdowns in the 2023 Gator Bowl against Kentucky including three fourth-quarter scores in a comeback victory.

• Transferred to NC State in January of 2024

2023 SEASON (AT COASTAL CAROLINA):

• Threw for 10,005 yards in 42 games at Coastal Carolina.

• Notched 88 touchdown passes vs. just 14 interceptions.

• Named a 2023 College Football News (CFN) All-American honorable mention, he was a HERO Sports’ Group of Five All-American second team performer.

• The 2023 Preseason Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year

• Threw for 1,919 yards in 2023.

• Also named to the preseason watch lists for the Manning Award, Maxwell Award, Unitas Award, Davey O’Brien Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year.

2022 SEASON (AT COASTAL CAROLINA):

• Named the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year for the third consecutive season - a Sun Belt Conference record

• Earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors for the third straight season.

• Started all 11 games he played in, he missed two with an injury.

• Completed 70 percent of his passes (207-297),  gaining 2,700 yards and throwing for 24 touchdowns with only two interceptions. That TD-to-INT ratio was among the FBS leaders.

• Threw a touchdown pass in 23-straight games over two seasons.

• Ranked in the top 40 in all of NCAA Division I FBS in several offensive categories: passing efficiency (3rd, 171.4), completion percentage (3rd, 69.7 percent), yards per pass attempt (5th, 9.09), points responsible for per game (18th, 16.4), passing touchdowns (29th, 24), passing yards per completion (30th, 13.04), points responsible for (32nd, 180), and total offense (40th, 263.2 yards per game).

• Led the Sun Belt Conference in completion percentage, passing efficiency, points responsible for per game, and yards per pass attempt

• Served as a team captain for the Chanticleers.

• A semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, he was a member of the Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2022

• Earned a spot on the 2022 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Top 25 list.

2021 SEASON (AT COASTAL CAROLINA):

• Awarded the 2021 Blanchard-Rogers Trophy (South Carolina’s Heisman).

• Broke the NCAA Division I FBC record for passing efficiency  - his 207.6 rating eclipsed the records set by Alabama’s Mac Jones (203.1) in 2020 and LSU’s Joe Burrow (202) in 2019

• Completed 73 percent of his passes for 2,873 yards and 27 touchdowns with only three interceptions.

• Posted several CCU single-season records: completion percentage (73.02), passing efficiency (207.6), yards per completion (16.3).

• Also posted some of the best marks in school history other categories: TD passes (2nd, 27), passing yards per game (2nd, 261.2), passing yards (5th, 2,873), pass completions (6th, 176). 

• The 2021 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and a first-team all-conference performer.

• Tabbed the 2021 Pro Football Network (PFN) Sun Belt QB of the Year.

• A semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award and the Maxwell Award. He was a member of the Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2021.

• A 2021 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award - Top 10 Finalist.

• Picked up Cure Bowl MVP honors by going 22-for-30 for 315 yards and four touchdowns versus the Huskies

2020 SEASON (AT COASTAL CAROLINA):

• Named the 2020 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. 

• Also was a first-team all-conference performer.

• Named the 2020 Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Most Inspirational Freshman.

• Earned a spot on the 2020 Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Freshman All-American team

• Named to The Athletic’s 2020 College Football Freshman All-American team

• A 2020 Manning Award finalist, he was a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award, the Davey O’Brien award and the Shaun Alexander-FWAA Freshman of the Year Award.

• A member of the Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2020.

• Named to the FWAA “Fresh Four” list three times throughout the season.

Former Texas quarterback Maalik Murphy will make his way to Durham, North Carolina in 2024. The former backup to Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers aims to make an instant impact along with new Duke football head coach Manny Diaz.

Murphy was a four-star prospect (according to 247Sports) out of Gardena, California and committed to Texas in early 2022. Murphy spent the 2022 season behind Ewers and former Texas quarterback Hudson Card in the depth chart, so he didn't see the field that season. In 2023, the Longhorns signed five-star recruit quarterback Arch Manning and it seems as though Manning is the future of Texas football in 2025 (Ewers is returning in 2024).

Dave Clawson, who was named Wake Forest University’s 32nd head football coach on Dec. 10, 2013, has set a new standard for Wake Forest football as he heads into his 11th season in Winston-Salem in 2024.  
 
Clawson, who was named as an American Football Coaches Association Board of Trustee member on Jan. 10, 2022, signed a multi-year contract extension with Wake Forest on Nov. 26, 2021 and has achieved unparalleled success as the leader of the Demon Deacons football program.  
 
Specifically, since the start of the 2016 season, the Deacs have the third-most wins in the ACC not counting the COVID-shortened 2020 season. Additionally, the Demon Deacons are in the winningest stretch of football in their program's history with Clawson’s teams owning five the program’s top-five win totals in program history over a five-year span.

All that winning has led to record-setting crowds, multiple sellouts and the best student attendance in school history, which has given the Demon Deacons a huge edge when playing at home inside Allegacy Stadium. Wake holds a 23-7 (.767) record in home contests since the start of the 2019 season, which included a program-record 11-game winning streak spanning from the 2020 to 2022 seasons. With that, the Deacs’ 76.7 percent win rate ranks third in the ACC during that time period (2019-23).
 
That aforementioned win streak featured a perfect 6-0 record at home in 2021, which was Wake Forest’s first undefeated home record since 1979 and that fall marked just the third time since the Deacs’ 1970 ACC Championship team to go unbeaten inside Allegacy Stadium. Meanwhile, six home wins in 2021 tied the program record that Clawson’s 2019 squad had previously set. 
 
Over the last eight seasons since 2016, the Demon Deacons have found a winning formula in one-score ball games by capturing multiple more wins by one score in six of those seasons with a total of 21 victories in 38 such games. Coach Clawson’s squads hold the fourth-best winning percentage in the ACC in those games during that span.
 
In the stands, Wake Forest has sold out nine home games since 2021 and over the course of its six home games during the 2023 season, Allegacy Stadium hosted an average of 3,511 students and 30,498 fans – both tallies are the highest on record.
 
All the aforementioned victories are due to having great players who perform well each week. The Deacs 54 All-ACC honors is the fifth most overall in the ACC since the 2019 season and Wake Forest is one of just six schools to have more than 50 honorees in that time span.
 
Over the course of his tenure at Wake Forest, Coach Clawson’s staff has had six student-athletes (Cam Serigne, TE: 2014, 2015, 2016); Dom Maggio, P: 2016, 2017, 2019; Greg Dortch, 2017: All-Purpose, 2017: Return Specialist, 2018: All-Purpose, 2018: Return Specialist; Essang Bassey, CB: 2017, 2018, 2019; Nick Sciba, K: 2019, 2020, 2021; Michael Jurgens, OL: 2021, 2022, 2023) earn All-ACC honors at least three times during their careers. While Greg Dortch is the only four-time honoree in program history. Overall, there are only 15 players in program history who have ever accomplished this feat of at least three all-conference accolades. 

Mario Cristobal has returned home to Miami.

Cristobal, who helped lead the University of Miami to two national championships in 1989 and 1991 as a standout offensive lineman, was named the University’s 26th football head coach on December 6, 2021.

One of college football’s most highly regarded coaches, Cristobal returned to his alma mater after leading the University of Oregon to three straight Pac-12 Conference championship game appearances and two Pac-12 titles. He is the only coach in the nation whose team has played in a Power Five conference championship game in each of the past three seasons.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Mario, his wife, Jessica, and their sons Mario Mateo and Rocco home to Miami,” UM President Julio Frenk said. “Mario’s legacy as a student-athlete at the U is well established. And the standard for competitive excellence that he and his teammates helped establish is one to which we continue to aspire. Our selection, however, was not one based in nostalgia for a proud past, but rather in a bold vision for a promising future.

“The characteristics that helped Mario excel as a national championship-winning player—drive, determination, and discipline—continue to propel his success as a coach. In Mario we have found a head coach who shares our belief in providing student-athletes with the very best opportunities to succeed on and off the field, and our commitment to winning at the highest level.”

“My family and I are excited to return home to the University of Miami, which has been so instrumental in shaping me as a person, player, and coach,” Cristobal said. “This program has an unparalleled tradition and an exciting future ahead of it. I can’t wait to compete for championships and help mold our student-athletes into leaders on and off the field who will make our University, our community, and our loyal fan base proud.”

Jeff Brohm was named Louisville's 24th full-time head football coach on Dec. 8, 2022, and immediately put the Cardinals in position to compete for the school's first Atlantic Coast Conference title and has the program on the verge of of becoming a consistent player on the national stage.
Brohm guided his first team to a 10-4 overall record, the program's first 10-win campaign since 2013. For his efforts, Brohm was named one of three semifinalists for the Steve Spurrier First Year Coach of the Year Award. 
In his first season as a head coach of his alma mater, Brohm led the Cards to its first 10-win season since 2013 and the school's first appearance in the ACC title game against Florida State and a trip to the Holiday Bowl. He became the first coach in NCAA history to guide two different teams to conference championship game appearances in consecutive seasons. 
The 2023 season saw the Cardinals race out to a 6-0 start for the first time since 2013, highlighted by wins over No. 10 Notre Dame in front of a record crowd at L&N Stadium and a victory over No. 20 Duke. The Cardinals cracked the Associated Press Top 10 at No. 9 for the first time since the 2016 campaign. 
 
Brohm began a new era of UofL football after elevating the Purdue program to unprecedented success during his six seasons as head coach.
Hired on Dec. 5, 2016, he guided the Boilermakers to four bowl appearances and the school's first Big Ten West Divisional title in 2022. The Boilermakers fell to No. 2 Michigan in the Big Ten title game, but Purdue was awarded a trip to the Citrus Bowl.
Prior to his arrival in West Lafayette, the Boilermakers won a combined nine games over four seasons. In his six seasons at Purdue, Brohm compiled a 36-34 overall mark with the Boilermakers. He led the program to notable victories, posting three wins over Top 3 teams: No. 2 Ohio State in 2018; No. 2 Iowa in 2021; and, No. 3 Michigan State in 2021.
Over the last two seasons, Brohm's teams compiled a 17-9 record, including a 9-4 mark in 2021 – the school's first nine-win season since 2003. The school achieved back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2006-07.
