We need to set our hearts to follow Jesus and participate in His great commission no matter what is happening around us or to us. God can work in spite of what’s happening. The Bible is full of stories of that being true. We must keep the faith and contend for those around us. That’s our mission given to us by God!

Why should Christians focus on spiritual growth? We must understand that the opposite of growth isn’t homeostasis , it’s decay. To not intentionally grow is to intentionally decay. We’re all being formed into something, either a devoted disciple of Jesus or a devoted disciple of the world. 

Connecting with God is not a once-and-done achievement, nor an occasional visitation. Rather, it is to be continually connected with the creator and lover of your soul.

God is not a far off, distant God. He is a living flame of love who is calling out to us with an invitation to experience the depth of His love.
