At the end of his letter to Timothy, Paul gives instruction to "guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith." In today's message, Pastor Phil reminds us that we need to guard the truth, pursue godliness, and persevere with eternity in view.

1 Timothy 6:10 tells us that "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." Recognizing that to be true, we are called to ask ourselves, "do I love money?" In today's message, Pastor Phil teaches us what 1 Timothy 6 has to say about navigating through times of wealth and times of need. Scripture encourages us towards contentment, generosity, and good deeds.

In 1 Timothy 6, Paul gives instructions for slaves, telling them to respect their masters, and to take care to respect their masters who are fellow believers. This passage of scripture surprises us, because we recognize slavery as a moral wrong, and Paul's instructions do not take aim at slavery as an institution. But in today's message, as we humbly study and listen to the wisdom of scripture, Pastor Phil helps us to understand the message of this passage, and what applications it has for our lives today.

In 1 Timothy 5, Paul gives Timothy instruction for how elders are to be treated in the church. In today's message, Pastor Phil studies this passage to show that healthy churches care for their leaders, and healthy leaders protect the church.

In 1 Timothy chapter 5, Paul lays out instructions for taking care of widows among the church body, and for how Timothy should conduct himself among the different members of the church. In today's message, Pastor John shows us that the way we view others influences how we treat them, and teaches us about the duty that families have to take care of their parents.

What is more important: how you live, or what you believe? In today's message, Pastor Phil teaches through 1 Timothy 4:11-16, and shows us that our lives should reflect our beliefs; we can not follow God without Biblical doctrine, neither without godly living.

In 1 Timothy 4:1, we read, "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith..." In today's message, Pastor John teaches us how to have a faith that sticks: guard your conscience, eat a healthy diet of God's word, exercise for godliness, and embrace the right hope.

In the conclusion to our study of the roles of men and women, Pastor Phil teaches on how we can apply the principles of scripture regarding church conduct to the context of what church looks like today. We are reminded to pursue unity, and that our unity as a church is centered on the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

On Easter, we rejoice that our Savior Jesus Christ is alive! In today's message, Pastor Phil preaches on the living hope found in Jesus. Through Jesus, we have strength in adversity, freedom from sin, and hopeful expectation for the future.

In the original Greek of 1 Timothy Chapter 3, in verse 11, we encounter a word which presents some difficulty in translation, speaking either about the wives of deacons, or about women who are deacons. In today's message, Pastor Phil studies a number of good reasons given for both possible translations, and teaches that, as a principle, we learn from this verse that women can do diaconal work.
