To receive the full fruit of our labors, we must persevere. Scripture, life experiences, and nature teach us that we reap the full harvest of the good only through persistent effort. Evil, on the other hand, needs no help to spread and multiply.

How fundamental this law is not only to the agricultural world, but also to almost every aspect of our lives, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The harvest is always greater than the seed planted.

“Too many believers are sowing wild oats throughout the week and then going to church on Sunday and praying for a crop failure.” (John W. Lawrence, Seven Laws of the Harvest) Sooner or later what we sow, we reap, but the thing that is so deceptive is that we reap in a different season.

God set up a system where everything reproduces after its kind. It doesn’t really matter how hard we try, we can never plant apple seeds and get collard greens. Neither can we sow hatred and reap love. This second Law of the Harvest reminds us that every seed sown produces results, and every result tends to be of the kind that was sowed. It is a universal law.

There are physical laws in this world you just have to live with. It does not matter who you are or what you know, you still have to deal with them. Just as there are physical laws that stand so there are spiritual laws every man must deal with. Of all of these laws, the Seven Laws of the Harvest are among the most significant and impacting on our lives.
