San Francisco Opera's North Stage Door episode 4 reveals behind the scenes stories about the importance of opera prompters and supernumeraries and delves into San Francisco Opera's distinguished history of touring outside of the Bay Area, moving personnel and productions from city to city by plane, train, bus and even dog sled.

North Stage Door Episode 3 explores the music and themes of love and liberation in Beethoven's Fidelio.

Special Guests include Matthew Ozawa, Janet Napolitano, Ian Robertson, San Francisco Opera Orchestra Musicians and Incarcerated Persons at San Quentin State Prison.

North Stage Door takes listeners backstage to examine the dynamic 18th century duo of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Lorenzo Da Ponte, and what, and how, their creative partnership continues to move and inspire us today.

North Stage Door, episode one, showcases how a team adapts to a pandemic and finds a creative path forward. It will have a special focus on The Barber of Seville—a masterpiece hiding in plain sight!—in conjunction with San Francisco Opera's special drive-in performances in April and May.
