Purpose: The purpose of this passage is to reveal the divine intent of the prohibition of murder as well as to encourage all of us, as guilty offenders, to see our need for the atoning blood of Jesus and to be reconciled at all costs to those with whom we have broken relationships.

Purpose: to call us to be living witnesses of Christ’s true righteousness before a needy world.

Focus: to invite us to a posture of humility before God in the hope that He will comfort and reward us in His Kingdom.
