A Nathan Carter concert which was to take place at St Joseph's Church in Boyle in December has now been cancelled by local church authorities, after originally been given the go-ahead by them. There's been a wave of criticism at the move - local resident, Viv Moran, says the issue at the heart of the dedate is not the concert, but the role of music in the church

A Mayo councillor claims that it's common knowledge that Taoiseach Micheál Martin instructed Irish Rail to reverse a decision which now leads to allowing the proposed Sligo Greenway be developed along the route of the Western Rail Corridor between Collooney and Bellaghy. Cllr Gerry Murray was one of the Mayo councillors who criticised the move as they passed a motion to this effect
