The RNLI in Bundoran has issued a warning to people after an incident yesterday in which a woman and a child out walking on Bundoran's main beach were swept into the sea by a large wave. Leitrim councillors have rejected a suggestion that smaller rail stations along the Sligo to Dublin rail could be bypassed on some Sligo-Dublin train services to speed up travel times. The Chair of the Sligo Cycling Campaign, Joan Swift, has added her voice to the criticism of Judge James O'Donoghue for comments he made about cyclists during a court hearing. More Internataional Protection Applicants are to be house in the expanded Globe House facility in Sligo Town in the coming weeks and months. A total of 52 children's burial grounds, or cillíní, have now been identified in County Sligo alone. That's according to archaeologist and authour, Dr Marion Dowd. She will give talk on her reserach and historical signifiance of these burial grounds in Sligo Library on 21st January next
