This week marks the first Sunday of Lent. Luke 4:1-13 describes the temptation of Jesus by the devil in the wilderness and teaches us how we can remain faithful despite our "human-ness" and tendency towards sin.

Exodus 32:1-20 teaches us about God's justice and mercy when dealing with a sinful people like us.

God offers his people now liberated people rules to live by--the Ten Commandments--in Exodus 20:1-21.

Exodus 12 recounts the Passover while the Israelites were still enslaved in the land of Egypt. God saved them from His wrath, and the Israelites were freed to leave Egypt.
