[2 Timothy 3:16] "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 

In what ways have you seen the Bible be specifically useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training? 

[Hebrews 4:12] For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

[Psalm 119:105] "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."

3 - Salvation - Escape Shame [NEBC Jan22, 2017]

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. — Ephesians 2:8-9

 [John 1:29] John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!   

The great news is that if will take the blame for our sins, Jesus Christ will take the shame.  We take the blame and Jesus Christ takes the shame.  We deserve death because of our sin, but Jesus Christ says count on Me and I'll give you eternal life.  If we take the blame for our sins and ask for forgiveness, then Jesus Christ Himself will take the shame of our sins upon Himself. Think about how Jesus Christ died.  He died a shameful death on an old rugged cross.  Why? Our Lord Jesus Christ suffered the pain and the shame of the cross because God loved the world so much that He gave us His one and only Son, and anyone who believes in Him will have eternal life.

Philippians 2: 5-8 [NLT]  You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.  Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.  Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.  When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on a cross.
