This is a highly watched case as the ruling will likely decide how much jurisdiction the Environmental Protection Agency has over non-navigable waters.

  • Seth Meyer from the USDA Discusses Opportunities in Livestock Sector

    Seth Myers, the chief economist for USDA, spoke at the recent Ag Outlook Forum in Kansas City. He says farm income should be strong this year despite a lot of volatility. Another factor he and many others have a close eye on is the shrinking cattle herd as there are some questions about future opportunities in the livestock sector. 

    USMEF supports legislation for increased funding for two USDA international market development programs designed to bolster U.S. agricultural exports.

    Shauna Farver of Farver Farms tells us what inspired her to add value to their operation after attending the Women Stepping Forward for Agriculture. One of the biggest take away she can give others is simply go to an ag conference. 

    We also look at a USDA report how much the H-2A program has expanded in the last 15 years and another USDA report showing a big increase in cash receipts and a bigger increase in costs.

  • Potato Harvest Outside of Ronan Sees Average Yield Despite a Questionable Start

    Tobol Farms just outside of Ronan, MT produces seed potatoes that get shipped to several states. However, after planting this spring, the crop took longer than normal to germinate and pop out of the ground. It was likely do to the cool weather, and may have stunted the production in the end. Nevertheless, the crop came out around normal.
