So often when times are tough, we circle the wagons and look after our own interests and forget others. But Jesus calls us to to be different - to be generous. A message by David Toscano
People like Hetty Johnston, Rosie Batty, Eddie Marbo and Tim Costello share a heart for justice and a desire for our society to be one that cares for those around us in meaningful ways. God's heart is a heart for justice as we hear Malachi's call for us to be just people. A message by David Toscano
In our third message drawing from Malachi we explore God's call to faithfulness to him. God is abounding in steadfast love, he wants more than anything to walk with us in life. But if we are to receive God's faithfulness towards us, God calls us to live lives devoted to him. We cannot be complacent towards God and expect God to come to our rescue. This is not the life of faith. This attitude wearies God.
Inherent in the role of a pastor, is the challenge not to compromise God’s message for the sake of keeping the church congregation happy. Especially when the congregation financially contributes to the wage of the pastor. Malachi speaks to the heart of a pastor, calling pastors to stay true to God’s call.
In a world where it is so easy to compromise, easy roads and cheap fixes, there is a small voice that reached through the ages calling us back to God and to give God our best.
As we wrap up this series, Rob Nyhuis, (Churches of Christ Victoria and Tasmania Executive Officer) reflects on John's writings from Revelation 1.
