What is the real meaning behind Jesus' call to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him? In this thought-provoking sermon, we wrap up our journey through Matthew 16 and explore how words like "friend" and "follow" have been redefined in today's social media-driven world. 1. Pastor Larry stated that the Pharisees and the Sadducees were bitter enemies and they're united by a common threat. Why do you think Jesus was considered a common threat and what do you think was their plan? (See. Matthew 12:9-14) What are some similar instances you have seen with groups today?
2. Read Matthew 16:1. What was their motivation in coming to Jesus (See. 1 Cor. 1:22)? Do you understand who you are in Christ? Do you look for signs, or do you take His precepts as your sign and roadmap for life?
