The first full week of the 2025-26 high school football season is in the books and already some teams have made statements. The Big Boys are winning on a national stage, Old Tappan is 2-0 again, Highlands is off and running and Westwood shocked Pascack Valley.

There is plenty to talk about on the latest episode of The Football Show! presented by northjerseysports.com.

It's never too early to start a high school football season and it is never to early to get on a soapbox about the early start to the high school football season. We do that and preview some of the big games on tap as the season gets underway before the school year does. It's high time for high school baseball junkies as the Bergen County Tournament wrapped up over the weekend and the state tournament kicked off on Tuesday. We have a lot to talk about and add in an appearance by William Paterson University head coach Mike Lauterhahn, who lends his interesting perspective to the high school and local college scene. And then...Nolan Ryan or Greg Maddux? We are Talkin' Baseball!

The Bergen County Baseball Tournament is down to its Final 4 and it has been a lot of fun getting to this point. Upsets, intrigue, close games...it all leads to what should be two marquee matchups at Demarest this Saturday. We talk about it with Ramapo head coach Garrison Ward.

We also talk some BIT, throw in a couple of bleeps and then get down to the business of "Who Played it Best?" catcher edition on this episode of Talkin' Baseball!

The first round of the Bergen County Tournament went off without a hitch and Paramus Catholic was amongst the winners for the first time since 2016. We talk to head coach Mario Lugones about the Paladins' rise.
