Continuing with our "Stories from the Master" series, we explore the parable of the prodigal son. Jesus identifies several main characters in the story that expose the attitudes of his listeners. Hearers can align themselves with either the older or younger sons, but they cannot escape the ultimate piercing message about the heart of the Father. 

This well-known parable has been examined and interpreted by many. It is the answer that Jesus gives in response to the question, "who is my neighbor?" Christ gives us a high calling, not only to perform mere acts of kindness but to live a transformed life that stands out among the crowds. 

Jesus often spoke in parables. What was the point and why did He give us stories to associate with the teachings? Our new summer series will dive into the various parables of Jesus- gleaning the lessons from each story. 

The parable of the sower is a well-known passage that highlights the sinful condition of our hearts. This sermon will give practical application for growth and will challenge listeners to examine their own heart posture and readiness to learn. 

Pastor Brian reflects on Luke 10:38–42, using the stories of Martha and Mary to encourage all listeners to prioritize resting in God’s presence. Rest is a rhythm of worship, strength comes from the Lord, and a mother’s impact—whether biological or spiritual—is greater than she may know.

This sermon concludes our study in 2 Thessalonians, highlighting Paul’s repeated message that Jesus will return and believers must remain ready.  Paul urges the church to pray for leaders and the spread of the gospel, avoid idleness, work to provide for themselves, serve the kingdom, and practice wise generosity within community. Christians today must heed those same words and live with hopeful expectation of our future state. 

Pastor Brian continues the "Rooted in Christ" series by unpacking 2 Thessalonians 2. He explains Paul’s warnings about lawlessness and the man of lawlessness, encourages submission to God’s truth over culture’s feelings, and reminds the church not to be alarmed or deceived by counterfeit promises. 

Our series on 2 Thessalonians begins with a glimpse of God's perfect justice. Can faith and love grow in the shadows of persecution and trials? Paul and the early church thought so. They also believed that God would reward them in due time and bring perfect order to our chaotic world. The speaker challenges listeners to be introspective about their own hearts- asking ourselves whether our responses mirror those of the believers in Paul's time. 

He is Risen! This Easter sermon celebrates Jesus’ resurrection as the decisive victory over sin and death. Christ's death and resurrection pays the penalty of our debt and empowers believers to walk boldly with the Spirit. 

Paul's message from 1 Thessalonians 5 urges believers to live as "children of the light," ready and sober for the Lord's unpredictable return. He contrasts destruction for the unprepared with transformation and hope for those in Christ. The believer has both a personal task list and a corporate one as we await to spend eternity with one another. 

The Rooted Series wraps up in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 with Paul's admonition of Jesus' second coming. Believers are encouraged to live expectantly in the future reality of our resurrection with Christ. One day, we will have new citizenship, new bodies, and a joy that will be made complete.
