You can feel the Spirit and still not be led by Him. That's the tension in this message: many of us want the tears, the fire, the atmosphere — but resist Him the moment He starts dealing with our pride, our unforgiveness, or the areas we'd rather keep control of.

Romans 8:14 doesn't say sons and daughters of God are those who've felt the Spirit. It says they're the ones led by Him. He's not a guest who shows up on Sunday mornings — He's God, and He came to stay, in every part of your life.

The real proof you're filled with the Spirit isn't what happens in a worship service. It's what comes out of your mouth on a Tuesday. It's how you treat people outside these walls.

He didn't come to make our services louder. He came to make us different.

Who is Jesus, really? In week two of our verse-by-verse Bible study on the book of Hebrews, we unpack one of the boldest declarations of the deity of Christ found anywhere in Scripture.

Hebrews chapter 1 draws a clear line between how God spoke through prophets in the Old Testament and how He now speaks through His Son. Jesus isn't a created being or a lesser angel — He's described as the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His nature. In verse 8, God the Father calls the Son "God" Himself.

We also dig into the role of angels, why the Word of God is complete, and why voices claiming "new revelation" today lead people astray. Whatever you're facing, this episode is a reminder that God's sovereignty is enough — and you're never facing it alone.

Strongholds do not form overnight. They begin with temptation, grow through repeated sin, and eventually build a prison in the mind. Because two-thirds of our being exists in the spiritual realm, most of the enemy's attacks happen there, not in the physical world. The enemy is not afraid of where you are. He is afraid of where you are going, which is exactly why he attacks hardest when God is preparing to expand your influence. The good news is that God has given us real weapons to fight back. By exposing hidden struggles to the light, breaking agreement with lies, taking every thought captive, and establishing spiritual non-negotiables, you can tear down what the enemy has built and walk in the freedom Christ has already secured for you.

The Book of Hebrews was written to Jewish Christians who were facing intense persecution and drifting back into Old Testament rituals for safety. The central message is simple and powerful: Jesus is better. He is superior to the angels, to Moses, to the Levitical priesthood, and to the entire sacrificial system of the Old Covenant. His blood provides permanent forgiveness, offered once for all, never needing to be repeated. One of the most sobering truths in Hebrews is that a person can have knowledge of Jesus without having a relationship with Him. Church attendance, service, and religious activity are not the same as genuine faith. The call is to hold fast to a living relationship with Christ, lay aside every weight that slows you down, and run the race with endurance.

Strongholds do not appear overnight. They are built through a process that begins with a single thought, a moment of weakness, or words spoken in defeat, and they grow until freedom feels impossible. The real battle is not physical but spiritual, and most of it happens in a place we cannot see with our eyes. The enemy is calculated and patient. He studies your weaknesses, listens to your words, and places the right bait in front of you at the right time. Lust, in its broadest sense, is any craving that demands right now what God has scheduled for later. It offers pleasure without process, intimacy without covenant, and release without responsibility. Freedom is not found by trying harder. It is found by bringing every thought into captivity, speaking life over your circumstances, and trusting that God's timing is always better than the shortcut the enemy is offering.

Sanctification is not just a personal journey. Colossians 3 makes it clear that growing more like Christ is deeply connected to how we treat the people around us. Paul calls believers to put off the marks of the old self, things like anger, malice, and lying, and to put on compassion, humility, patience, and love. Nearly everything on that list is relational. Spiritual growth was never meant to be a solo pursuit. It is meant to draw us closer to Christ and, in doing so, draw us closer to one another. Christ is the head, He is sufficient, and He calls us to walk together in step with His Spirit.

Peter and his partners had fished all night and caught nothing. Exhausted and frustrated, Peter still chose to obey Jesus and launch into deeper water. That single act of obedience produced a catch so massive it broke the nets and began to sink two boats. Yesterday's failures do not determine tomorrow's potential. God rarely calls us to do something we already feel equipped to handle. He calls us beyond ourselves so that when the breakthrough comes, there is no question about who made it happen. The deep water is uncomfortable and unfamiliar, but it is where the catch is. It all begins with one word: nevertheless.

God is calling His people past surface-level faith and into something deeper and more rooted in Him. Life will bring hardships that do not always make sense, but Romans 11:36 reminds us that everything comes from God, exists by His power, and is intended for His glory. True repentance is not just feeling sorry for sin but a genuine change of direction that opens the door to breakthrough and abundant life. Every believer has access to the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which breaks generational curses, spiritual strongholds, and the cycles that have kept them captive. Hiding God's Word in your heart builds a foundation that does not shift, no matter what life brings. The deeper life Jesus promised is real and available, but it begins with honesty, humility, and a willingness to repent.

Many believers stay in the shallow end of their faith, where it feels safe and controlled, but that is exactly where the waves crash hardest and footing is most easily lost. True faith requires going deeper, not through more religious activity, but through genuine surrender. Colossians 2:6-10 calls every believer to be rooted and built up in Christ, complete in Him who holds all fullness. The key that unlocks the power of the gospel is real repentance, not just saying sorry, but turning completely away from sin and toward God. Every believer also carries an anointing from the Holy Spirit, but living in that anointing requires dying to self and surrendering control. Whatever holds your attention, emotion, or dependence more than God does has quietly become an idol. Going deeper is not complicated. It is surrender, and on the other side of surrender is a peace, freedom, and fullness that nothing in this world can offer.

Spiritual growth is not about trying harder or checking off religious habits. It is the ongoing process of becoming more like Jesus, which the Bible calls sanctification. The Holy Spirit is the one who begins this work in you and carries it through to completion. When you came to Christ, your old self died and you were raised to walk in newness of life. You are no longer a slave to sin but a slave to righteousness, and that changes everything. The daily battle between the flesh and the Spirit is real, but your old nature is powerless because Christ has already condemned sin in the flesh. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Sanctification is not a destination you arrive at but a daily journey of becoming more like Christ, one Spirit-led decision at a time.
