Salvation isn't a hope-so faith. Scripture makes clear you can actually know you have eternal life — and that knowing produces a real, noticeable change in the direction of your life.

In week five of our Hebrews Bible study, we look at what it means that every Christian is called to more than church attendance or moral living — we're called and sent out as ambassadors for Christ. We also dig into Jesus as our High Priest, fully God and fully man, who was tempted in every way we are yet did not sin, which is exactly why He's able to meet us in our weakest moments.

We also trace a pattern through Scripture: before God poured out judgment — the flood, Sodom and Gomorrah — He made a way for the righteous first. That same consistency in God's character points forward to the rapture of the church, where His people are carried through judgment, not abandoned to it.

And we land on Romans 10's simple but urgent chain: people can't call on someone they haven't believed in, and they can't believe in someone they haven't heard of. The gospel was never meant to rest on one person. It was always meant to multiply through millions of ordinary believers going and telling — which means you are plan A, and there is no plan B.

One of the most avoided yet most important questions anyone can ask is whether they're truly saved. Many people identify as Christians while living in ways that contradict that claim — and in a culture where biblical truth feels increasingly negotiable, honest self-examination matters more than ever. God didn't send His Son to the cross so His children would spend their lives wondering where they stand. According to 1 John 5:13, He wants believers to know they have eternal life — not merely hope for it.

Genuine salvation isn't built on church attendance, moral living, or religious activity. It's built on personal faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself warned that many who called Him Lord would be turned away, because He never knew them. True salvation produces transformation, unashamed conviction, and a life oriented around pleasing God rather than people. The story of the prodigal son reminds us that even when believers wander, the Father never revokes their identity — and John 10 and Romans 8 both confirm that nothing in all creation can separate a believer from His love or remove them from His hand.

Struggling with sin after salvation isn't evidence of a lost faith — it's often evidence that the Holy Spirit is at work, bringing light into areas that were once hidden. Just like turning on a light in a dark room reveals the mess rather than creating it, Christ's presence reveals imperfection and produces a growing hunger for holiness. The goal of the Christian life was never perfection — it's faithfulness. Living for an audience of One, and pursuing the words well done from King Jesus above all else.

The Holy Spirit isn't an atmosphere, a feeling, or a powerful moment in a worship service. He's God — and He wants to lead every part of your life, not just visit it. Romans 8:14 draws a clear line between being led by the Spirit and simply being stirred by Him. Most of us welcome His comfort and His presence in worship. Far fewer welcome Him when He starts addressing pride, unforgiveness, spending habits, or the compromises no one else knows about.

Pentecost wasn't just a powerful gathering — the real miracle was what came after. Peter, who denied Jesus three times, became a bold preacher. Thousands believed. People gave generously and lived visibly different lives. That's the fruit the Spirit produces, and fruit — not gifts, not moments — is the true measure of His work in a life.

Because the Holy Spirit is a person, He can be resisted, grieved, or quenched. Each response carries real consequences — not just for you, but for the people around you. Full surrender isn't a one-time decision made at an altar. It's a daily invitation for Him to lead, correct, convict, and transform every part of your life.

Drifting doesn't require a decision. It just requires doing nothing.

In week three of our verse-by-verse Bible study on the book of Hebrews, we look at one of the most sobering warnings in the letter: the picture of a boat carried off course by a current — and the current of this world is not moving toward Jesus. Hebrews 2 makes it clear that ignoring the gospel is its own kind of rejecting it.

The fix isn't paddling harder through personal effort or performance-based religion — that road leads to burnout. It's being anchored to Jesus, the Rock, so that He carries you. But an anchor needs substance. If you say the Bible is your foundation but don't actually know it, you're not anchored — and you'll find out the hard way the moment your faith gets challenged.

We also dig into why Jesus didn't watch human suffering from a distance but entered it fully, tasting death so our guilt could be replaced with forgiveness, and why a God big enough to hold the universe is still personal enough to know you by name.

You can feel the Spirit and still not be led by Him. That's the tension in this message: many of us want the tears, the fire, the atmosphere — but resist Him the moment He starts dealing with our pride, our unforgiveness, or the areas we'd rather keep control of.

Romans 8:14 doesn't say sons and daughters of God are those who've felt the Spirit. It says they're the ones led by Him. He's not a guest who shows up on Sunday mornings — He's God, and He came to stay, in every part of your life.

The real proof you're filled with the Spirit isn't what happens in a worship service. It's what comes out of your mouth on a Tuesday. It's how you treat people outside these walls.

He didn't come to make our services louder. He came to make us different.

Who is Jesus, really? In week two of our verse-by-verse Bible study on the book of Hebrews, we unpack one of the boldest declarations of the deity of Christ found anywhere in Scripture.

Hebrews chapter 1 draws a clear line between how God spoke through prophets in the Old Testament and how He now speaks through His Son. Jesus isn't a created being or a lesser angel — He's described as the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His nature. In verse 8, God the Father calls the Son "God" Himself.

We also dig into the role of angels, why the Word of God is complete, and why voices claiming "new revelation" today lead people astray. Whatever you're facing, this episode is a reminder that God's sovereignty is enough — and you're never facing it alone.

Strongholds do not form overnight. They begin with temptation, grow through repeated sin, and eventually build a prison in the mind. Because two-thirds of our being exists in the spiritual realm, most of the enemy's attacks happen there, not in the physical world. The enemy is not afraid of where you are. He is afraid of where you are going, which is exactly why he attacks hardest when God is preparing to expand your influence. The good news is that God has given us real weapons to fight back. By exposing hidden struggles to the light, breaking agreement with lies, taking every thought captive, and establishing spiritual non-negotiables, you can tear down what the enemy has built and walk in the freedom Christ has already secured for you.

The Book of Hebrews was written to Jewish Christians who were facing intense persecution and drifting back into Old Testament rituals for safety. The central message is simple and powerful: Jesus is better. He is superior to the angels, to Moses, to the Levitical priesthood, and to the entire sacrificial system of the Old Covenant. His blood provides permanent forgiveness, offered once for all, never needing to be repeated. One of the most sobering truths in Hebrews is that a person can have knowledge of Jesus without having a relationship with Him. Church attendance, service, and religious activity are not the same as genuine faith. The call is to hold fast to a living relationship with Christ, lay aside every weight that slows you down, and run the race with endurance.

Strongholds do not appear overnight. They are built through a process that begins with a single thought, a moment of weakness, or words spoken in defeat, and they grow until freedom feels impossible. The real battle is not physical but spiritual, and most of it happens in a place we cannot see with our eyes. The enemy is calculated and patient. He studies your weaknesses, listens to your words, and places the right bait in front of you at the right time. Lust, in its broadest sense, is any craving that demands right now what God has scheduled for later. It offers pleasure without process, intimacy without covenant, and release without responsibility. Freedom is not found by trying harder. It is found by bringing every thought into captivity, speaking life over your circumstances, and trusting that God's timing is always better than the shortcut the enemy is offering.
