The Ten Commandments are motivated by the righteous jealousy of God

A promise from God is not like any other promise.

Our life with God starts with grace, is sustained by grace, and ends with grace.

We obey so we may live abundantly.

God was in the wilderness with His People then, and He is with us in our various wildernesses now.

We need to repent of wrongdoing, but we also need to repent of our rightdoing when it is our attempt to establish our superiority
