2 Timothy 3:14-17 | The Bible is the operator’s manual for life. Before all else fails, why not read the instructions? The Holy Scriptures are “God-breathed,” and “the Bible is “living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword.” 

Matthew 3:13-17 | There are moments in our life that move us to right relationship with God. They occur all through our journey: beginning, middle and end. What are the moments that have moved you into right relationship with God? 

Luke 2:15-20 | In the aftermath of the Nativity, we return to our ordinary lives. This is where we continue to hear the message of Christmas. This is where we continue to serve the mission of Christmas. 

Luke 2:8-20 | During Advent we gather as a community of faith to prepare our lives for the celebration of Christ’s coming into the world. God’s light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Jesus Christ is THE reason for the season. Don’t skip Christmas this year. 

Luke 1:26-33 | Be reminded of the JOY you've been given not in things nor people, but in the richness of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Ask for joy. Seek joy. Claim joy. Share joy. And trust that there will be Joy to the World for Christ has and will come.

Luke 2:1-7 | We live in a material world. And it is natural mistake to expect material things to bring meaning, purpose, and joy into our lives. However, we are expecting something from the world that it was never designed to do. If you want everyTHING to be perfect for Christmas, then you will be greatly disappointed. But when we swim upstream against the cultural stream and focus upon God, then we discover the real meaning of the Christmas season. 

Mark 1:1-8 | Both John the Baptist and the Grinch remind us that Christmas is not about the ribbons, tags, packages, boxes, or bags. Instead, our hearts grow larger during the Holy Days when Christ comes into the world and our lives. During this Advent Season, let us “prepare the way for the Lord!” 

Psalm 100; Colossians 2:6-7 | What are the magic words? They are “please” and “thank you.” Children of God learn to use them early and often. In the process, we discover that thanks living leads to thanksgiving. We receive and then give. We give and then receive. We live our lives in an offering of thanksgiving to God.

Exodus 34:6-7 | The Lord is steadfast on our journey, but what does this promise really mean? God does not promise that life will always stay consistent. God does not promise that there will be no consequences. It means that God is and will be merciful, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love. And the great promise that we get in our covenant relationship with God – is that God will be with us on the journey. 

Luke 6:37-38 | During our October focus on Christian stewardship, we are revisiting the same theme by asking the question, “What does it mean to be fit stewards in God’s kingdom?” Last week’s sermon explored how to Lead in the church as Christian stewards. Today’s message is entitled Follow. As Christ’s disciples, we are called to faithfully follow Jesus in every area of our lives, including financial faithfulness.
