2) Christ took it from him.

B. Christ sets the captives free from the fear of death (Hebrews 2:15).

III. TO SAVE HIS PEOPLE (Hebrews 2:17-18).

A. “Merciful and faithful high priest” ?

B. “To make propitiation for the sins of the people” ?

Propitiation- means the removal of God’s wrath.

B. This word of salvation was confirmed by miracles, signs and wonders.

The Superior Son

Intro

I. THE SON IS THE CREATOR-GOD (Hebrews 1:10).

#6 Ps. 102:25-27

A. The Son is called LORD.

B. In the beginning.

C. He laid the foundation of the earth.

D. The heavens are the work of His hands.

II. THE SON IS ETERNAL (Hebrews 1:11-12).

A. The heavens and earth will perish.

1) their condition ? ?old like a garment.?

2) Their manner of disposal - ?being rolled up like a mantle.?

3) their glorious transformation - ?they will be changed.?

B. The Son remains and His years will not come to an end.

III. THE SON IS IMMUTABLE (Hebrews 1:12)

IV. THE SON IS ENTHRONED AS KING (Hebrews 1:13).

#7 Ps. 110:1

A. The Son at the Father?s right hand.

B. The Son?s enemies made a footstool.

V.  THE ANGELS ARE SERVANTS OF THE SON (Hebrews 1:14).

A. WHAT are they? They are all ministering spirits.

B. WHO sends them? Sent out by God.

C. TO WHOM do they serve? Those who will inherit salvation.
