Ben Potloff · "How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?" You can almost hear the trembling in David's voice as he says these words. Anyone who has spent a few years on this earth knows the feeling... we can all remember that trembling coming from our own mouth. In Psalm 13, we see the reality of sorrow in the life of the Christian, we see a God whose love is steadfast, and we see a salvation worth rejoicing!
Ben Potloff · This week we look at Psalm 46. This Psalm, written by Sons of Korah, teaches us to view God as a fortress, our "refuge and strength." We also learn about how God's presence is our comfort and security in times of fear and anxiety. Here, we see that because God is with us, we have nothing to fear.
Ben Potloff · Why are you cast down, O my soul? This is the cry that we see as we look at Psalm 42 & 43 this week. In times of doubt, despair, and trials, we need to be reminded of the truth of God's love and glory. This text teaches us to faithfully preach the gospel to ourselves, in good times and bad. Here, we see that when it feels like God is absent, we must remember the truth.
Darryl Elledge · This week we are in Psalm 19. Written by King David, this Psalm is all about how God is revealed. We see this revelation through God's creation, God's word, and God's people. Through this Psalm, we see that God reveals Himself to us that we might have a relationship with Him.
Sam Cassese · Continuing his exposition of Psalm 119 from last summer, Pastor Sam Cassese walks us through verses 33-40, showing us the cry of the righteous: show me, shape me, shield me.
Ben Potloff · When King David penned Psalm 24, he was marveling at the beauty of God's power, God's requirements, and God's plan. As we read this now, thousands of years later, we are called to marvel at and respond to these attributes of our King.
Ben Potloff · This week we look at Psalm 1. This text addresses the way of the wicked versus the way of the righteous. Here, we see that where you look for direction will impact your life now and your destination forever.
Ben Potloff · This week, we come to the close of the Apostle Paul's letter to the Christians of Ephesus. This letter ends where it began, with grace and peace from God the
Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Here, we see that in Him we have grace and peace... so we love.
Ben Potloff · This week, we come to the Apostle Paul's instruction regarding the armor of God. Over and over, Paul teaches Christians to put on the different pieces of armor in order that they may "stand against the schemes of the devil." Here, we see that the gospel is our defense against the devil.
Ben Potloff · In our test this week, the Apostle Paul continues to instruct Christians how to live in light of our new life found in Christ. After teaching on marriage and the call for husbands and wives to model the gospel, Paul now turns to children and parents as well as servants and masters. This text teaches us that Christ is the Lord of offspring and offices.
