An old aluminum smelter along the Columbia River could soon get cleaned up. Part of the effort will make way for a massive energy storage project.

As skyrocketing diesel prices push up costs for many businesses, Washington is incentivizing a switch to zero-emission vehicles and equipment.

The Washington Transportation Department this week [WED] launched a program making it easier for businesses to buy zero emissions vehicles and charging infrastructure.

Washingtonians looking to run for local, state or federal office this year can officially file to do so starting Monday. But as SPR’s Owen Henderson reports, Congressional hopefuls have already been raising money.

Willamalane [will-amma-lane] Park and Recreation District, which serves the Springfield area, is asking voters for a temporary, 5-year increase in their levy to preserve existing services.

Officials in Snohomish County say king tides have severely eroded a levee that protects the city of Stanwood from flooding.

If the earthen levee fails, officials say seawater could displace eleven-hundred [1,100] people.

A new affordable housing development has opened in Eugene. Ollie [AWL-ee] Court not only provides living units, but also an onsite learning center. KLCC’s Brian Bull reports.

Federal assistance recently came through for both flooding *protection and recovery* in Washington. Officials in Snohomish County are working to make sure those funds reach their residents.
