Northwest farmers are unsure if new tariffs announced by President Trump will hurt or help them.

Alan Scheiber [SHRY-bur] heads up the Washington Asparagus Commission.

He says these new tariffs can scramble farmers’ marketing plans. He says usually, there would be a flood of Mexican and Peruvian asparagus to compete against.

[Washington] State legislators are grappling with how to handle a budget while, according to Democrats, tax revenues are stagnant and the costs of maintaining government services are rising.
