State lawmakers are considering funding cuts for crime victim services. Advocates warn this would endanger programs helping victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Governor Bob Ferguson’s 2026 draft budget would reduce this funding by about $8 million dollars, compared to last year.

Washington state lawmakers are weighing whether they’ll cut millions of dollars in funding for groups that help survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Victim advocates say this would result in aid organizations closing down or limiting their services. KNKX reporter Mitch Borden has more.
