Eugene City Council sent an expanded 5-year library levy to the May ballot on Monday. KLCC’s Rebecca Hansen-White has more.

Last week, PeaceHealth revealed it will not renew its decades-long contract with Eugene Emergency Physicians to staff its ERs in three Lane County hospitals. Instead, PeaceHealth has chosen an Atlanta-based management company called ApolloMD to run its emergency departments.

KLCC’s Tiffany Eckert spoke with two local emergency physicians, with reactions to the hospital system’s decision.

In a unanimous vote on Wednesday, the Everett city council approved an ordinance that will make it a misdemeanor to sell food on the street without proper permitting.

This is in response to Everett, and other communities across Washington state, seeing a spike in unlicensed food carts and roadside stands.

Some small rural churches across the Northwest are banding together against the growth of white nationalism in their communities. They’re getting extra money to help them work across traditionally held lines.

A string of grocery store closures have inspired a collection of bills aimed at improving grocery and food access. Legislation advancing in the House and Senate would make it easier for grocery stores to open in underserved neighborhoods and require stores to give notice if they’re closing in a food desert.

For some Seattle Seahawks fans, the championship parade was more than just an opportunity to celebrate the team.

The Seattle Seahawks took a victory lap through the city’s downtown today [WEDS] after their super bowl win against the New England Patriots. It’s the second time bringing home the Lombardi Trophy. The team was met with excitement, emotion and fans from everywhere.
