They are fighting a Trump administration order to fire up a coal-burning power plant in Centralia again.

Washington lawmakers will try to address the effects of artificial intelligence on young people’s mental health this year…. A bill backed by Governor Bob Ferguson would impose new regulations on AI companion chatbots, including suicide prevention protocols and protections against showing minors explicit content.

TransAlta’s coal-burning power plant in Centralia shut down December 19th and has not re-started since then.
