Portland’s top attorney is accusing the U.S. Department of Justice of turning a blind eye to federal officers’ treatment of protesters outside the city’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility.

The Trump administration is appealing a ruling from a federal judge that blocked the president’s attempts to send National Guard troops to Portland.

President Donald Trump is asking the 9th circuit court of appeals to overturn a federal judge and allow sending national guard troops to Portland. The White House says the troops are necessary to protect federal immigration facilities. Oregon leaders feel otherwise, as Kyra [[KYE ruh]] Buckley reports.
