Democrats, including Oregon U.S. Representative Val Hoyle, are blaming their Republican colleagues for today [Wednesday’s] government shutdown.

Washington Democrats are sounding off about the federal shut down and its effect on state residents who rely on healthcare tax credits that will expire by the end of the year.

Officials from Oregon Housing and Community Services say funds are still available to help homeowners recover from the 2020 Labor Day wildfires. But time is running out. KLCC’s Karen Richards explains:

Before starting a Portland City Council meeting this morning ((WED)), council president Elana Pirtle-Guiney ((e-LAH-nuh PURR-tull GHIN-ee)) condemned President Trump’s decision to send federal troops to town.

She said that her fellow councilors shouldn’t be distracted by the threat.
