A proposal in Republicans' budget bill would penalize states like Oregon that pay for healthcare for undocumented immigrants.

Electric trucks are expensive – especially the large semis that carry container cargo to and from ports. High prices have caused slower sales of electric trucks than regulators would like. That’s why the state Department of Ecology is following California’s lead and updating its Advanced Clean Trucks rule.

Despite headwinds from the federal government, Washington is forging ahead with rules to speed the state’s transition to zero emissions vehicles.
