Lane County Commissioners will vote tomorrow [Tuesday] on a building permit for land on the McKenzie River near Walterville. The rare vote comes after the permit was twice denied by county staff, and has drawn attention from a variety of people. After months of work, Grants Pass’s new homeless shelter now has residents moving in.

Homeless residents in Grants Pass now have a new place to lay their head at night, with more beds opening in the coming weeks.

Barely two months after it was installed, a fence surrounding Eugene’s federal building has been dismantled. KLCC’s Brian Bull reports.

In Western Washington, a class of fourth graders ended the school year with a big, public art show…full of mixed emotions. The school in the city of Tukwila is a hub for new immigrant students and the artwork celebrated some of their journeys. As KUOW”s Gustavo Sagrero reports, the show came at the end of a tough year, as immigration enforcement took a toll on this classroom and their neighborhoods.
