Northwood Christian Church Sermons & Podcasts

Jesus never promised trouble wouldn’t come, but He did promise that He would enable us to have peace in the midst of it. It has been estimated that the phrase “do not fear” is mentioned in the Bible 365 times! That would indicate that we are going to have many opportunities to fear but equally as many opportunities to overcome that fear. So take heart, and let's see the new year with faith, not fear.

Just because God is silent does not mean God is absent. “What happens while we are waiting can be as significant as what we are waiting for.”

Senior Pastor, Barry Lind, speaks into times of waiting or even deafening silence. He talks about finding peace in those times and reminds us of God's promises that we can hold onto while we wait.

“If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent an educator. If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist. But since our greatest need was forgiveness, God sent us a Savior.”

Pastor Barry Lind shares a message through the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant. We all have been forgiven a huge debt, how will you respond?

Generosity is paradoxical. Those who give, receive back in turn. By spending ourselves for others well-being, we enhance our own standing. In letting go of some of what we own, we better secure our own lives. By giving ourselves away, we ourselves move toward flourishing.

If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. - Proverbs 29:18 MSG

Our great friend, and VP of Advancement at Bushnell University, Keith Potter brings us a message of vision and togetherness.

Northwood & Bushnell are both in pivotal moments of growth and vision casting, so Keith felt called to speak about what God's word has to say on such things.

Northwood is blessed by the host of former pastors and ministers who chose to call this church their home. This week in particular we are blessed by Dave Stram, a great friend, musician, and former Mayor of Creswell.

Dave brings us a message about finding your fit, both when it comes to living your calling as well as acts of service. How do we “work out” what God has “worked in” to our lives?

What do we do in seasons of waiting? We’ve seen miracles before and know that surely there are more ahead of us. But what now?
