The moment any girl learns about sex in India, the first thing she learns about is not that sex is a pleasurable act but that she has this thin(-ly veiled in misogyny) tissue inside her pussy that, all of a sudden, the world has ownership on and that she must protect this tissue at the risk of dishonoring her family. Apart from an antiquated cultural expectation, the reality is this discussion still comes up today - sneeringly asked by classmates, discussed amongst boys & girls and the peer pressure and shame around virginity that still very much exists. The guilt around being a sexually liberated woman and the guilt around virginity is proportionally the same. There's no win - win for women, it's always a lose-lose. The fact that in 2021, this will still happen makes me wonder where is it that we're going wrong?

On this episode I share a personal story about the time that I dated a narcissist. Dating a narcissist to me is classified under going through an abusive traumatic experience. The kind where you always consistently find yourself stressed out, in flight or fight or fawn mode, along with moments of euphoria. Things look ideal but don't feel it. Suddenly your emotions work against you, you question your own logic and you turn against yourself. You're being gaslighted, taken advantage of and all by the most toxic kind of person. And there seems to be no way out because somehow you're also being convinced that YOU'RE the problem.

I have been thinking about the idea of success, of "making it". If you had to define it, could you? We're sold this dream of being successful, our generation is full of online success stories unlike any generation before them. Opposite sex friendships can get tricky in relationships. Especially if they're referred to as "best friends". When the lines get muddy and red flags start showing up, is it something you can be comfortable with? Insecurities are normal, toxic dynamics in relationships aren't. And can straight women and men actually be best friends? I don't know....I have doubts.
