For the past few years, solidarity with Palestine has become a contentious issue among Muslims in the public. What used to be clear sided issue is now more of a debate. Since 9/11, Muslims have had to venture into a new political arena and with it, a firm stance on Palestine has often been neglected. On this episode, law students Carmel Abuzaid and Raneen Abdelghani talk about Palestine, zionist normalization, and its acceptance in the mainstream Muslim community.
Carmel Abuzaid and Raneen Abdelghani are both Palestinian law students of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. During their time at UT, they lead and organized the Palestinian Solidarity Committee. They are both pursuing their law degree and organizers for the Palestinian Youth Movement.
