Gravesite tourists are a real thing. Sounds strange at first, but, visiting the graves of famous dead people is a very common thing to do as a traveler.
Have you ever been to or want to go to the pyramids of Egypt? Or the Taj Mahal in India or Westminster Abbey in London? Then you are a gravesite tourist. Many millions of people visit these famous sites each year and easily forget these are gravesites, tombs, or resting places for very famous people. Gravesite tourism comes in all shapes and sizes. There are religious pilgrimages to graves like the tomb of Jesus in Jeruselaham and Pope John Paul under Saint Peter basilica in the Vatican city. Then you got patriots and political figure tourists who visit leaders like JKF and George Washington in the U.S.A. Ho Chi Min in Vietnam, Mao Zedong in China, and our favorite; Kim Jong-il in North Korea. Not to forget everyone's favorite pop culture icons from music stars like Bon Scott, frontman of AC/DC to literature legends like Oscar Wild.
Press play now and join us as we discuss the fun and wacky world of Gravesite tourism.
Enjoy

As a tour guide who has worked on four different continents, Alan has seen a thing or two in his time. From Europe to Australia, Japan to Canada, tour guiding is never the same especially in all four corners of the globe. Alan sat down for an interview with Paula Sant'Anna, host of the "Surviving Tourism" podcast, and spilled the beans with some juicy stories about the differences between the customers, operators, cultures, and experiences on offer when leading groups in different parts of the world.

Why don't we travel more and work less?
The more you work, the more you have to spend on travel BUT the more you work the less time to travel... a bit of a catch 22 isn't it!
What if there was a way to travel and get paid for it, problem solved!!!!
While the majority of us work all year to pay for an annual trip that is often led by a tour guide, these tour guides are getting paid to do and enjoy the exact same adventure. When your few weeks travel comes to an end, and you board your flight back to 11 months of 9 to 5, these lucky bastards are picking up a new group of thrill-seekers and are setting off to do it all again, all while getting bank notifications that their weekly wage has just been paid.
But How much work is really involved? What are the perks? Is it really just travel and parties? Do they sleep with all the guests? What are the downsides to such a job? How well do they get paid?
Press play now and learn what it's really like living the life of a tour guide.

What sport do you love above all others?
Now picture yourself, front row, at your favorite sport's biggest event. The Super Bowl. The World Cup. The Olympic gold medal race, or a tennis Grand Slam. Now imagine, you're being paid to be there!
The dream job right!
That dream is a reality if you're a sports journalist like Ben Rothenberg.
Ben travels all around the world following and covering professional tennis for the New York Times. Melbourne for the Aus Open. London for Wimbledon, Paris for the French grand slam, to name just a few. He gets great seats, chats with the big-name players, and squeezes in some independent travel between tournaments. "What a life!" you might, jealously, remark. At first glance, Ben has the dream job, but what is the reality of such a gig? What are the perks? How much genuine travel is Ben really getting in? What must he sacrifice for this lifestyle and how hard is he really working? Press play now and hear Ben dish the dirt on what it's really like in 'the dream job' as a sports journalist covering world tennis.

Taking photos is one of the joys of traveling. We all love a good snap, capturing those moments that become cherished memories to look back on months or years down the line. But what if you could convert your photos into dollars in your bank account?
With the rise of the internet and social media, never before have so many people tried, calling themselves influences and digital nomads. But how much money are they really making? Are they making any at all? And if so, what does it take and how hard is it to make it as a travel photographer?
We sat down with award-winning photographer Peter Meyer to answer all these questions and get his perspective on how he does it as one of the few, genuine, professional travel photographers.
