Not Bare Minimum-Jesus On How To Vote On Monday
If you’ve ever heard a pastor rant about the evils of party x vs the holiness of party y, you have heard something close to the opposite of where the Talky Bit is headed this Sunday. I don’t want to say too much (I mean, why come to the store if everything is for sale online?), but as with other parts of the “Bare Minimum” series, I’ll be attempting to approach the wisdom of Jesus in a way that makes it accessible no matter what you think of the person himself. Come complete with your skepticism and your bias about politics, religion and Jesus all intact, and we’ll see if a first century rabbi has anything to say about 21st century democracy.
Some other important details:
-Kids Table is back in action! Whoop!
-Money…as we head into the last few months of the year, we want to keep you posted on how the operations part of The Table is doing. Short version – we’re not broke, but we are bringing in less money month by month than what it costs us to exist. If you are someone that gives regularly, a hearty Thank You! If you are someone that values a reminder or an update to prompt your consideration of this part of our life together, this is that reminder. We will provide a more detailed update in our morning gatherings.
-Christmas (WHAT?!) I know… I’m breaking the “no Christmas before Halloween” rule. Just a “save the date” moment. Our Christmas gathering this year will be on the evening of Sunday, December 22nd. We will NOT have a gathering that morning.
I think that’s it for now. We’ll put the coffee on, and I’ll see you on Sunday.
