In the ponds of Cape Cod, there's a group of women over 65 living in their bliss. They call themselves the Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage and their mission is simple: clean up the trash from their local ponds, enjoy nature, and build sisterhood. What began as Susan Baur's mission to help the turtles in her neighborhood waters has grown into a movement of retirees who refuse to sit still.
Marcy Johnson came looking for community after the loss of her husband and her own battle with cancer. Sarah Spengler was searching for a renewed sense of passion after years of working multiple jobs and facing the question of what retirement would mean for her.
What they found was more than a volunteer project — they found friendship, healing, purpose, and a powerful new vision for what aging can look like.
This episode is about second, third, and fourth acts — both in and out of the water.
