Not Just Bop returns for a festive look back at the academic year so far, with Charlotte, Dan and Emily picking out their highlights, before looking forward to some of the exciting projects, campaigns and events in the pipeline for 2023!
In the latest episode of Not Just Bop, Charlotte, Dan and Emily take a look back over their first month in office here at the Student Union. Before looking forward to the upcoming new year and Freshers Week, and taking themselves back to the months prior to arriving on campus at Winchester, to provide some useful hints and tips for those incoming students this year.
Getting them straight to work on their first day in office, your new Sabb team of Charlotte (President), Dan (Vice President, Education & Welfare) and Emily (Vice President, Activities & Services) introduce themselves, talk about why they decided to run for office, how they know each other and also highlighting their plans for the year ahead.
On this episode of Not Just Bop, our Representational Networks Assistant Con is joined by the Spectrum committee members, Eddie, Megan and Jet to discuss all things related to LGBT+ History Month, from historical icons to queer media as well as what they think we can do to be better allies.
Beyond time to talk day - In the latest episode of Not just Bop, we are joined by Vice president Education and Welfare, Dan and Vice President Activities Dan, continuing the conversations around mental health, opening up and lad culture beyond Time to Talk day. Taking the themes from discussions on the day, they hosted an open discussion with 3 students Lyndon, Cat and Chloe on their thoughts around opening up and mental health, and how we can keep the open conversations going with proactive and reactive steps going forward.
In the latest episode of Not Just Bop, our Activities Team are joined by guests Charlie and Lauren to discuss LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport. This is part of our wider Rainbow Laces campaign, started by Stonewall to raise awareness and to educate people about the discrimination of LGBTQ+ people in sports. Holly, Dan, and Con examine statistics, prejudices, and experiences on and off the field and as a group the 5 of them discuss what progresses they would like to see made in sports here at Team Winch and beyond.
In the latest episode of Not Just Bop, we are joined by your Vice President, Education Dan and Charlotte, your Student Voice Assistant, for a StARs (Student Academic Rep) Special. Within which, Dan and Charlotte highlight the amazing advances being made within the scheme, look at some of the new elements to it, including the first StARs social next week, before speaking with Kia, a current Student Academic Rep for Primary Education to get a StARs perspective on the scheme.

As we celebrate Black History Month this October, your Student Union President Charis, welcomes Con, our Student Union Representational Networks Assistant and Ola Saliu, the chair of our African-Caribbean Students Network (ACS) to the podcast. Within this special recording, Ola gives an insight into the ACS network, the work they do and their plans for the upcoming year. Before Charis highlights the work the Student Union is undertaking during Black History Month and what we can do to become better allies.
We also importantly discuss how we, as a Student Union can do more after Black History Month.
