It's summer time so we talk about what we did to start our summer. We also brought out the free time wheel of topics. This week we talk World Cup and Summer Movies. Enjoy!
School's out for the summer! We talk about the last week of school. Future plans, students, and what coming up this summer.
As we see more white collar jobs being taken over by AI and more blue collar jobs paying higher salaries, we ask the question - "Is college worth it?" Today we talk about the pros, the cons, and our experience with college. Enjoy!
We've got a lot to talk about today, it's mostly in the title. We go into what teachers deal with both inside the classroom and out. We talk time, money, mental health, positives and the negatives of doing what we do. We love out job! But we'd love to change some things haha.
We've got a great one for you guys. It's a topic we've been needing to discuss but really wanted to wait until we had some experts in the house. Today, Michael Morgan and Mark Wilkes join us. They are licensed marriage and family therapists from Momentum Counseling Services, just down the road in Sandy, who both see a lot of athletes and have a ton of great info and advice for us.
In the classroom we see a lot of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and even deal with it ourselves. So what better way to tackle the topic than to bring in a couple of experts with over 20 years combined experience. We also go into some sports psychology and a little bit of what athletes go through. And of course, "making the grade" movie edition. Enjoy!
Look we needed another sports episode in our life. We kind of hit on a lot of stuff... Tanking, How to fix the NBA, Recruiting in High School and more. It's sports talk with the boys so enjoy.
It's after winter break and we are all hitting a wall. I think it first hits the seniors; some call it "Senioritis" and then the teachers start experiencing burnout. In this episode we talk about the causes, what we do for it, and much more. Check it out!
With a lot of schools in the news recently for the anti Ice protests and walk outs, we wanted to cover the topic. It's always a sensitive one when it comes to schools, teachers and politics so we are going to attempt to do this strictly from a teachers perspective. Just our thoughts, we could always be wrong haha. And we don't represent any particular school policy.
It's finally Superbowl week! We talk matchups, predictions, Superbowl parties, facts and tons more on this special edition of Not On the Syllabus Superbowl Week!
It's a new year so we thought we'd share some of our favorites from 2025 and talk about the strangeness of time as a teacher. We also make a little change to Temu Time. We hope you all enjoyed your break like we did! Now it's time to get back on schedule with new episodes every Tuesday. Enjoy!
