Not Saying You Can’t Sleep, But Don’t Sleep As Others on Day of Atonement On The Day of Atonement
Have you ever slept most of the day on the Day of Atonement to help the affliction of fasting go by quicker and be less painful? I know I have, but the Lord showed me that He prefers us to stay up more on that day, so that we can WATCH. You pray for Him to give you strength. The Lord is going to come in a Day of Atonement (Leviticus 25:9), and He wants us to not sleep, but WATCH for His coming. So, we practice now, so that we can be ready when He comes. I’m not saying don’t sleep at all on the Day of Atonement, but I am saying what Christ says: Watch and Pray.
