Not Serious takes on the ultimate escape from the real world: VR. But it hasn’t really caught on like it was supposed to. I wonder why?  

You’re wearing the bulky goggles, seeing a virtual beach, it gets close to feeling real – just for a second – until you smell something, and that’s when it’s all over: there’s a reason that sandy beach feels like your bathroom’s shag carpeting and smells like your bathroom, too. That’s no beach.

Is VR any more real than that dream you had last night? No. And sleeping is free. VR isn’t.
