Too many relationships in one room, multiple passive-aggressive chemistries, cliques, and even the same people bragging about the same thing year after year after year after year after year!  There are never enough new things to talk about, so it never takes long for an outbreak of the recycled, patchwork quilt of topics for conversation that have gotten old for everyone!

Is it really about celebrating the country and the sacrifices made to make it happen, or is it about a certain someone showing off and bragging to the siblings, cousins, and in-laws?

A drink or two can make some things better at least.

I would take The Love Guru, Vogon Poetry, and the worst American Idol contestants over Dad Jokes any day. 

“Why do melons have weddings? Because they cantaloupe” and “What do you call a bear with no teeth? A Gummy Bear” are two of the better ones, for the sole reason that they follow the setup-punchline format. Most don’t.
