"Not So Silent Night: The Songs Of Christmas" - Week 1: Luke 1:1-45

Listen Later

We begin our Christmas sermon series, Not So Silent Night. The joy of the first Christmas was so intense that many of the people directly involved broke out into prophetic songs when they encountered the reality of what was happening in those events. Luke recorded many of these firsthand accounts in his gospel. In our opening message in the series, we will lay a foundation for the opening chapters of Luke and examine the song Eliszabthe spoke when she encountered the Savior for the first time in the womb of her cousin, Mary.

Series Overview

Our 2024 Christmas sermon series is “Not So Silent Night: The Songs of Christmas.” In this series, we will study the songs of Christmas recorded in the book of Luke and celebrate again the glorious birth of our Savior. Many traditions make Christmas memorable. But more powerful than any of those are the sounds, specifically the songs of Christmas. Nothing makes it feel more like Christmas than the hymns, songs, and carols we know and love. This makes perfect sense when you realize that songs have literally been a part of Christmas from the beginning.
