"Not So Silent Night: The Songs of Christmas" Week 2

Listen Later

We continue our Christmas sermon series, Not So Silent Night. Last week, we looked at the proclamation of Elizabeth when she saw the pregnant Mary for the first time. This Sunday, we will examine Mary’s response. Her song, called the Magnificat, is a precious declaration of the magnificence of our Lord God. He moved in a very special and mighty way in Mary’s life, but He is moving still in ours. Come and hear what Mary’s song still says to us today, over 2,000 Christmases later.

But more powerful than any of those are the sounds, specifically the songs of Christmas. Nothing makes it feel more like Christmas than the hymns, songs, and carols we know and love. This makes perfect sense when you realize that songs have literally been a part of Christmas from the beginning.
