We’ve been keeping a pretty big secret from you guys… and we finally decided it was time to tell our Sissies. One of us gave the other a kidney. Yep. You read that right!!! We might not be sisters but do we share DNA.

In Part 1 of our kidney transplant story, we’re going all the way back to the beginning — talking about Christine’s diagnosis, finding out she needed a kidney transplant, how I found out I was able to be a living kidney donor, and what went through my head when I had to decide whether I was actually going to do it.

We’ve kept this story to ourselves for a long time because we wanted to build our little community of Sissies before dropping something this major on you. So if you’ve ever wondered what really goes on behind the scenes when someone decides to donate a kidney to a friend, we’re here to tell you.

Part 2 is where we get into the actual kidney transplant, surgery, recovery, and all of the ridiculous stories that came with it — but first, you need to hear how we got here.
