DaBaby released his new ​d.a. got that dope-produced song “Red Light Green Light” along with the music video today. The song’s music video, which DaBaby directed, pays homage to one of rap’s favorite movies, 1991’s Boyz n the Hood. Throughout the video, DaBaby sports a t-shirt with the film’s poster on it while they recreate iconic scenes from the film like the cookout and when Ricky gets shot. Although the lyrics to “Red Light Green Light” don’t refer to the movie, DaBaby has rapped about it in the past. On his 2019 song “INTRO”—which paid tribute to his late brother—he namedropped the movie rapping: And I still got a lotta sh-t on my mind that I can’t undecide (Yeah, yeah)

Microsoft officially announced its next iteration of Windows today, Windows 11. The new OS will feature a number of improvements over Windows 10, for everything from productivity to gaming. And, much like the upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1 to 10, going from Windows 10 to 11 will be completely free. On the gaming side, Microsoft is bringing a number of features to Windows 11 that first debuted on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The new OS will include auto-HDR, which will automatically upgrade a game's lighting and color to HDR, as long as your system supports it. According to corporate vice president of Xbox, Sarah Bond, over 1,000 games will support this feature, including Age of Empires: Definitive Edition, Rocket League, DayZ, and even Doom 64. Games will also load faster on Windows 11 systems, as long as they have the right hardware. Microsoft is also including Xbox's direct storage feature with Windows 11, which lets assets load quickly through your GPU without bogging down your CPU. The result of this feature should be faster load times in all of your games. Windows 11 will also integrate xCloud into the Xbox App, allowing any PC to play games at a high quality. Xbox Game Pass is also being built directly into the app, giving users a more streamlined way to play their games. According to Panos Panay, Microsoft's chief product manager, Windows 11 users can also expect better all-around performance. In his presentation, Panay said that the new OS would wake from sleep faster, make any browser run faster, and even improve how Windows updates are handled. Updates will now be "40% smaller" and run in the background, said Panay. The OS will also come with many of the changes shown in recent leaks. Screens will have rounded edges, and taskbar icons will be sat in the middle rather than on the left. Users will also be able to divide their open programs between multiple desktops, which can easily be switched between.

Tyler, the Creator Releases New Album Call Me If You Get Lost. The Igor follow-up features Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, Pharrell, 42 Dugg, DJ Drama, Ty Dolla $ign, Domo Genesis, NBA YoungBoy, and more. Tyler, the Creator has released his new album Call Me If You Get Lost. According to Spotify, the album includes guest spots from Lil Wayne (“Hot Wind Blows”), Lil Uzi Vert and Pharrell (“Juggernaut”), Ty Dolla $ign and YoungBoy Never Broke Again (“WusYaName”), 42 Dugg (“Lemonhead”), Domo Genesis (“Manifesto”), and more. DJ Drama is heavily featured across the album, and Jamie xx is credited as a co-producer on “Rise!” In an Instagram story, Tyler noted Jay Versace’s contribution to “Safari.” Call Me If You Get Lost is the follow-up to Tyler, the Creator’s 2019 Grammy-winning LP Igor, which took home the Best Rap Album trophy at the 2020 awards ceremony. Tyler’s new album was preceded by a number of teasers, beginning with a series of billboards that appeared in cities like Los Angeles, London, Paris, Berlin, and more. The billboards were emblazoned with the LP title (before it had been announced), and featured a hotline number that led to a mysterious pre-recorded message. Tyler then shared a teaser titled “Side Street” which also made reference to the album title. Doja Cat dropped her highly anticipated album Planet Her Thursday night, and her fans are excited! The LP has 14 songs and 5 features. Artists included in the album are Young Thug, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, JID, and SZA. In addition to dropping the LP, the LA rapper also had a surprise for her listeners. In a letter circulated early this morning, Logic announced his return to the rap game with a letter and a new single, “Intro.” The move is surprising for fans of the MC, who took his retirement announcement seriously back in July of 2020. The letter was sent from Logic’s attorney and said, “WASHINGTON, DC. (June 16,2021) ― The following statement was released today by Logic, through his attorney Paul Rothenberg Partner of Rothenberg, Mohr & Binder, LLP located in NYC, in response to questions about his future career plans: ‘I’m back.’” Logic Returns With Thrilling, Surprise New Track, ‘Intro’ Logic’s return was announced in a letter from his attorney. Though the new song didn’t come with any further announcements, the single track is a surprising gift for listeners who haven’t heard from him since his supposedly farewell LP, 2020’s No Pressure. 

No Pressure, the 15-track album, marks a full-circle moment for the artist, who reunited in the studio with No I.D. The acclaimed producer not only helmed Logic’s groundbreaking 2014 debut, Under Pressure but also signed the young artist to Def Jam. With additional production from 6IX, No Pressure found the GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum artist getting back to his roots and making the music that he loves with “no pressure.” “This album is a return to form for me. It is a culmination of all the things I’ve learned mentally, spiritually and technically,” said Logic in a statement. “And most important it is an album that is strictly for fans of hip-hop music. 

It’s an album I’d been planning for years and what I believe to be the perfect farewell.” Luckily for devotees of the MC’s cerebral lyrics and playful sense of humor, No Pressure was less of a send-off than the beginning of a new era in which Logic has removed expectations and stress from his career. In that sense, “Intro” is truly the start of something unexpected and thrilling.

Everything you missed at 2021's all-digital E3, The first online-only E3 officially ended on Tuesday, but the complementary (or competing?) Summer Game Fest has just begun. While everything went off with few hitches, there weren’t many huge announcements, and the biggest reveal of E3 wasn’t even at an official E3 event. Even before the switch to an online format this year, huge publishers like EA, Activision and Sony had stepped away. Activision, for example, typically holds its own events at other points in the year and gets its largest games featured at Microsoft or Sony shows. EA, meanwhile, has traditionally held its own event concurrently on the other side of town, but this year has a show scheduled for July as part of Summer Game Fest. Regardless, a bunch of games have been announced, and the end of E3 gives us a good opportunity to take stock of what the major players have done right, and wrong, so far.

HER has been a big deal since 2016, when she released her debut EP, HER Vol. 1. Over the years, the California-born artist has won a Grammy and an Oscar. Through it all, one of the only things HER hadn’t accomplished was release a full-length album, but that will change in just a few days. Back Of My Mind, HER’s long-awaited long-player debut, will drop on June 18. After revealing its title and cover art earlier this month, the singer shared its tracklist with just three days until the album arrives. According to the Apple Music pre-save page, it’s comprised of 21 songs with contributions from Ty Dolla Sign, Hit-Boy, Cordae, Lil Baby, Kaytranada, Thundercat, Chris Brown, Yung Bleu, DJ Khaled, Bryson Tiller, and YG. Previously-released singles, “We Made It,” “Damage,” “Come Through,” “Hold On,” and “Slide.” Back Of My Mind is out 6/18 via MBK Entertainment/RCA Records.

Tyler, the Creator’s latest album, Call Me If You Get Lost, drops June 25th. Tyler, the Creator has released a short new song, “Lumberjack,” along with an accompanying video, which he directed under his Wolf Haley alias. The track — which clocks in at just over a minute — opens with a lazy spoken-word bit that finds Tyler talking about plans for a snowy weekend in Utah over woozy synths. “Lumberjack” transforms when the drums kick in, and Tyler proceeds to peel off punchlines like, “Rolls Royce pull up, black boy hop out/Shout out to my mother and my father, didn’t pull out.” The “Lumberjack” video is classic Tyler as well: A series of surreal vignettes as he reads old car magazines in bed, raps on top of a stack of suitcases, gets his nails done, and finds himself trapped in a blizzard. “Lumberjack” marks Tyler’s second release of the year, following “Tell Me How,” which officially arrived in March, but appeared first in a Coca-Cola commercial released a month prior. At the time, “Tell Me How” marked his first proper solo release since 2019, although in the interim he collaborated with Westside Gunn, Freddie Gibbs and the Alchemist, Lil Yachty, and Brent Faiyaz Tyler, the Creator’s most recent album, the Grammy-winning Igor, was released in 2019. At the end of that year, he dropped a pair of loose singles, “Best Interest” and “Group B.”
