A late rally fell short for Notre Dame women’s basketball at Virginia as Len Clark reports.
Notre Dame trailed by 19 points early in the fourth quarter, but cut Virginia’s lead to seven with four minutes remaining. The comeback bid fell short, however, as the Cavaliers held on for an 81-70 victory. Hannah Hidalgo led the Irish with 24 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. The performance moved Hidalgo into fourth place on Notre Dame’s all-time scoring list with 2,132 career points. The loss drops the Fighting Irish to 15-9 and 7-6 in ACC play. They host NC State next Sunday. Len Clark, Network Indiana.
