June 20, 2012 3. Why should I believe in God?
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan discusses at length about the topic - Why should I believe in God?
"How do you know that God exists?”
“How do you come to faith?”
“How did faith come to you?"
These are the pertinent questions asked by an atheist and Ustadh tries to elaborate on the answers with soundproof.
We are now acquainted with the Quran’s reasoning. The Quran does not ask the question or answer the question “Does God exist?”.
The Quran is Allah speaking himself. And He is in conversation with his creatures. He is in direct conversation with us. The only question He asks is -“Do you really believe it is Me talking? Do you really believe that these words are my own?”
One is not hearing Allah’s words; infact we are hearing the voice of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
“Are there other God that you should be worshipping besides Myself?”
“Do you think that you are going to worship yourselves and not Me?”
“Do you think that you are going to thank others other that Myself?”
These are the kinds of questions that the Quran asks. So this gives rise to another important question - “How come Quran never asks that question? How come the Quran never deals with the question that God ever exist or not? Why not?"

June 20, 2012 2. Islamophobia
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan analyses the goals of Islamophobia and the need for Muslims to comprehend the tricks being adopted for the same. He advises a spiritual and pragmatic approach to be adopted. He goes on to examine the reason for this xenophobia and Islamophobia that is widely prevalent around us. He assists the Muslims via ways to overcome such trials and tribulations in any part of the world.
The unprecedented hatred against the Muslims, the rise of anti-Islamophobic crimes and much more can be attributed largely to ignorance of the people and also due to genuine worry and fear for their own kith and kin. The hatred, animosity, and misinterpretation that we see around us is actually the result of the people being terrified and scared due to the thought of having to part with his freedom and being jeopardized.
Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has said: "Later times are going to be afflicted with trials you are going to find difficult to bear" and "Every time one comes, it will make the previous one look trivial". The people will say "this is the one, this is the one" thinking it is much more than the previous.”
The above Hadith is the reality of the hour with Islamophobia at its peak. The reality of the hour is also the need for the Muslim Ummah to step up. We should let go of our nonchalant and ignorant attitude towards these trials and adopt a constructive approach filled with the propagation of the truth of Islam for the betterment of our religion.
These trials have only been brought down into this trivial world to purify the hearts of the believers and reinstall undying faith and love for the religion of Islam. Hence, it is our primary duty to do whatever it takes within permissible limits to ensure that our Deen does not suffer at the hands of these monstrosities.

“Or do they envy people for what Allah has given them of His bounty? But we had already given the family of Abraham the Scripture and wisdom and conferred upon them a great kingdom.”
Surah Nisa includes many instructions for Muslims and how to set up themselves as a community. And in it it also has principles for us of how to go beyond the community and really truly become a nation. So you know there is this idea of us the smallest unit of humanity being an individual and beyond that being a family and beyond that being a neighborhood and beyond that being a community and even beyond that being a nation. And so these stepping stones that lead us to become a solidify nation, an Ummah.
