- Many children present with stomach pain due to constipation because they are not eating enough vegetables
- Can be based in conflict and a child’s desire for control
- Forcing children to eat food they do not like is counterproductive and will lead to more power struggles over food
- Children learn to eat a healthy diet by watching their parents model healthy eating
- Dr. Orlena’s “super food” is: vegetables! (Incorporate as much variety as possible)

- Get your children involved in the meal preparation process

- Being overweight is correlated to risk for Type II Diabetes
- Public health crisis linked to diet and lifestyle
- Type II Diabetes is avoidable and reversible (if caught early)
- Talk to yourself like you would talk to your best friend
- Accept your body as it is and consider your “why” if you want to lose weight
- Self-love can be a driving force to nourish yourself
- Come from a loving, non-judgmental place in order to reach your goals

- Two-week reboot - be strict and maintain healthy eating
- Allows taste buds to change and our bodies
- Addresses addiction to sugar
- Shows you that it’s doable and enjoyable
- Give your body a chance to use fat as its fuel

- 80-90% of weight loss is related to nutrition
- Exercise helps weight loss but it has benefits outside of that as well
