In today's reading of Tyndale's OYCSB (with featured content written by the CBT team),

  • Jesus teaches the church that just like he is stronger than Satan and demons, he is also stronger than the most powerful military force in the world. The church has whatever they ask for in prayer in Jesus' name, and they need to cling to this truth!
  • Paul and Barnabas begin their first missionary journey. They will plant five new congregations in five places where God has not yet been praised. Opposition to the gospel manifests itself in four of these places. New congregations must grow in their faith while navigating the difficulty of persecution.
  • We also learn the blueprint of Paul's presentation of the gospel. Like the apostles, like Stephen and Philip, Paul explains the good news about Jesus by storying through the Bible!
